Remote Restorative Resources

During this Corona Virus time, tools and information for connecting at a distance have become more important than ever for our movement, and the various practices we collectively seek to develop and support.  The following may provide some ways and methods for enhancing our effectiveness during these times - necessity can be a mother of innovation, for sure.  If you have favorite resources that you do not see below, please tell us about them!  restorativejusticeflorida@gmail.com
Education; all grade levels and topics, including distance-learning specific:

-FDOE: for Florida Department of Education restorative resources, click here.
-PBIS: the Center on Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports provides this webinar, which highlights "strategies for connecting and building relationships through community building Restorative Practices circles at home and virtually."  And here is another, similar webinar from PBIS, focused specifically on working with "teens and tweens."

Law Enforcement and Officer Wellness (with thanks to Amos Irwin and our other allies at the Law Enforcement Action Partnership):
  1. Resources for officer wellness in the face of COVID-19:
    1. NAMI professional support for law enforcement
    2. CDC resources for law enforcement
    3. Apps: Breathe2Relax, Calm, The Worry Box, Headspace, Sleep Sounds, Meditopia: Anxiety Breathing, Meditation Music – Relax Yoga
  2. Guided meditation from Lt. Richard Goerling (Ret.) of Mindful Badge
  3. The Law Enforcement Action Partnership and NOBLE New Jersey are pleased to present a webinar with Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best, New Jersey State Police Deputy Superintendent Lt. Col. Geoffrey Noble, and noted psychiatrist Dr. Rahn K. Bailey.
COVID-19 is forcing first responders to transform operations to contain the spread of the virus, and it is adding mountains of stress to an already challenging profession. Chief Best and Superintendent Callahan discuss how their agencies are adapting to the threats COVID-19 poses to public safety and officer mental health. Dr. Bailey joins them to offer a clinician's take on officer and citizen mental health at this challenging time.

    The webinar recording is here.
